BS radiology
Introduction:
School of Health Sciences Peshawar has been offering BS Programs since 2018. The aim of School of Health Sciences Peshawar is to equip the Radiology technologist with modern skills and latest technical knowledge to help in health care delivery system and to prepare the Radiology graduates for higher studies and research purpose. School of Health Sciences Peshawar will provide a status and recognition to Radiology Technologists in the healthcare delivery system through improving their capacity along with increasing awareness of their responsibilities and job description and bring them at par with other national and international standard
The BS Radiology course is a four years degree programmed aimed at training students in the technological spheres of Radiological Procedures with a good scientific foundation. These students will be in a position to assist the health care provider (Radiologist). They will play a key role to determine the quality of health care facilities in the province, country and across the globe. With advance training in the latest technology these students will able to open the door of new research in Radiology technology and ensure the safety of the patient and Protection from Radiation hazards at the maximum.
Professional Recognition:
Graduates of Radiology Technology program of School of Health Sciences Peshawar will receive four year degree, awarded by Khyber Medical University (KMU) Peshawar.
Scope of Radiology Technology:
Diagnostic Radiology is the specialization of medicine that uses the images of X-Ray, Computed tomography Scan, Magnetic Resonance imaging, Dexa Scan, Fluoroscopic procedures, Nuclear Medicine, Radiation oncology, Positron emission tomography and Ultrasound. Interventional Radiology is the medical specialty that also uses imaging techniques (X-ray, CT, MRI and ultrasound) for direction. Patients can be treated and diagnosed using minimally invasive procedures.
Eligibility Criteria:
- F.Sc pre-medical or equivalent with minimum 50% marks.
- Maximum 25 years of age, on closing date.
